#repost w/ @kellierenehall : I never won a pageant. 3 years, 4 competitions, 100s of hours working out, several dress fittings, walking lessons, flights, and financial investments later – I didn't walk away with a crown. My first thought: I failed. I failed at pageants. We all can't "win." We all can't place. We ALL cannot walk away with a prize. I realize now, entering pageantry was never about me winning a crown, but entirely about who I would become in the process. YOU define your own success, YOU define what it means to win. I am stronger, prouder, more confident 3 years later than the 24-year-old I was when I first entered #missohiousa in 2016. Thanks to #MISSUSA my platform in the Navy catapulted into a mentorship program used to inspire others, my modeling career was launched, I built a personal platform, a motivational brand, and walked away with TWO separate group chats from TWO separate states (shout-out to MISS CA & MISS OHIO USA) filled with women who are a natural hype squad. With that, I can't believe I ever thought I failed. I may have never "won" a pageant, but in the process I built a LIFE. Personal reminder: failure doesn’t mean you lost, it means you gain an opportunity to grow. #joyinthejourney #womeninuniform #usNavy #misscausa
