MAOTeen 2018 is off to college! West Point!!!

We are honored to announce that Jessica Baeder, MAOTeen 2018 has accepted an appointment to the US Military Academy at West Point.  “In joining the Long Gray Line, I also follow in the footsteps of my father, grandfathers, and great-grandfathers who all served in the military.  This has been in my heart and mind since I was little and although I was blessed to have some amazing offers from other incredible universities, ultimately I felt the Lord’s urging that this is the path He has for me.  I visited again this past weekend and felt again that I “fit” here.  I am incredibly grateful to so many people who have inspired me and shaped my life and supported me- and to the MAOTeen program.  There is no doubt that the emphasis in the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen and Miss America programs on service, community engagement, scholastic achievement, physical fitness, and leadership skills prepared me well.  These elements are well-matched with the qualities West Point seeks in its cadets.  I am grateful to the incredible women who paved the way for me at West Point and I look forward to serving my country to the best of my ability.”

“Each year, I am honored to watch our participants across the country pursue their educational dreams.  Jessica has chosen a path that emphasizes not only her strength of character but also a commitment to her country. It is a very high honor to receive an appointment to a US Military Academy.  She is now a member of an elite group of young women and men!  Congratulations, Jessica!  We could not be more proud!” Donna Bozarth
