MISS FLORIDA’S OUTSTANDING TEEN AND MISS IDAHO’S OUTSTANDING TEEN WIN PRELIMINARY AWARDS AT THE 2016 MISS AMERICA’S OUTSTANDING TEEN COMPETITION

Orlando, Florida – August 4, 2016 – Miss Florida’s Outstanding Teen, Anjelica Jones was named Thursday night’s preliminary Talent winner for her contemporary ballet performance to “Billboards” during the third night of the 2016 Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Competition at the Linda Chapin Theater in Orlando. Anjelica will receive a $500 scholarship. Also in the spotlight was Miss Idaho’s Outstanding Teen, Mady Thornquest, who was the preliminary Evening Wear/On-Stage Question winner. Mady will receive a $500 scholarship.
Academic Awards were also a special highlight of the evening.  This year’s Scholastic Excellent Award for the highest GPA went to Miss South Carolina’s Outstanding Teen, Makayla Stark.  Makayla will receive a $1,000 scholarship. Outstanding Achievement in Academic Life was presented to Miss Delaware’s Outstanding Teen, Ashley Swanson. Ashley will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
